If you have never heard of doxo, count your lucky stars, and remember to avoid the app like the plague.

Doxo’s been around since 2008. According to its website, doxo simplifies bill paying and management by keeping everything in one place, thereby eliminating the need for customers to remember a long list of passwords.

Doxo’s business concept sounds like a nifty idea, especially for people who have a lot of bills to pay each month. But suppose you’re not familiar with doxos’ payment methods. You’re apt to find yourself sitting in the dark, twiddling your thumb and plotting “going postal style” revenge.

The internet is awash with customer reviews accusing the platform of being a scam and a bunch of thieves preying on unsuspecting people. Many of the complaints have accused doxo of creating fake company websites and logos to lure people into using their bill payment portal. This sneaky practice has led people to make late payments to utility companies, which has resulted in some cases in people getting their power cut off. Another oft-mentioned complaint concerns the exorbitant fee that doxo charges, which isn’t made transparent until after the transaction has been completed. There’s nothing the user can do but start kicking themselves in the butt then.
